Job Summary

The Team
The Medical Imaging Strategy Team provides policy support, oversight, and strategic direction to improve access and wait times for MRI and CT services across British Columbia. The team values diverse perspectives and actively works with a range of partners, including regional health authorities, consultants, and clinical professionals, to address healthcare challenges. The Role
The developmental policy analyst, reporting to the Manager of the Medical Imaging Strategy Team, is responsible for providing project and program support within the program area. In this position you will also play a role in shaping and evaluating policies that impact our communities and drive change. The Analyst will be essential in tracking program progress against our Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and evaluating and reporting on relevant metrics. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful improvements in the medical imaging system, working in a collaborative environment and supporting health initiatives. The analyst works collaboratively with both internal and external partners, providing support for this Ministry priority area and strategic repositioning initiative.

Qualifications:
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Grid 18):
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (Grid 18):

  • Degree in Business or Public administration, or Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of recent, related experience; OR
  • Diploma in Business or Public administration, or Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 3 years recent, related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in a related field plus 4 years recent, related experience; OR
  • No formal post-secondary education and a minimum 5 years recent, related experience

Recent, related experience must include:

  • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
  • Experience providing advice and recommendations on policy, program and service issues.
  • Experience managing, coordinating or supporting projects and/or project components.

Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:

  • Experience working in the health sector.
  • Experience writing reports.
  • Experience in ensuring accuracy and consistency in reports, analyses and data sets.
  • Experience creating and maintaining dashboards or reports that visualize progress made.
  • Experience juggling multiple tasks and changing timelines.

  • No formal post-secondary education and a minimum of 6 years recent, related experience

Recent, related experience must include:

  • Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.
  • Experience providing advice and recommendations on policy, program and service issues.
  • Experience managing or coordinating projects and/or project components.

  • Degree in Business or Public administration, or Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 3 years recent, related experience; OR
  • Diploma in Business or Public administration, or Health Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 5 years recent, related experience OR
  • No degree and a minimum of 7 years recent, related experience

Recent, related experience must include:

  • Experience researching, analyzing information and providing advice and recommendations on policy, program or service issues.
  • Experience managing projects and / or program components with minimal supervision and conflicting deadlines.
  • Experience writing briefing notes, background material, reports and correspondence and makes presentations to stakeholders on current/emerging issues.
  • Experience working with stakeholders, which may have conflicting interests.

About this Position:
Developmental Opportunity – Applicants will be appointed to the appropriate classification level based on their qualifications.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Health offices: Victoria or Vancouver
