Access Specialist

Vancouver Island University’s Accessibility Services department seeks an experienced Access Specialist to join our Student Services team in this temporary full-time role.

We are looking for a candidate who will have experience determining academic accommodations for students with a wide range of disabilities, strong administrative skills, and an interest in contributing to our positive and collaborative work environment.

As the Access Specialist, your primary focus is to work directly with students with disabilities to determine reasonable accommodations to reduce or remove students’ disability-related barriers in the academic setting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in psychology, educational psychology, special education, social work, vocational rehabilitation, occupational therapy, or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum three years of recent and relevant experience in disability accommodation.
Salary Information:

VIUFA F2: $71,141 – $114,001 per annum. Faculty are placed on the salary scale based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
