Lead Program Coordinator, Community Partnerships

Vancouver Island University invites applications for the regular full-time role of Lead Program Coordinator, Community Partnerships an exciting opportunity within the Professional Development & Training department at our campus in Duncan.

In this position, you will focus on collaborating with local Indigenous communities and community organizations to identify and develop programming that assists in meeting their educational needs. Your role will be responsible for the program/course development, planning, implementation, and evaluation. If you have a passion for building relationships with community partners, assessing program needs, negotiating contracts, identifying grant opportunities, and facilitating curriculum development, we like to hear from you.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in relevant subject area from an appropriately accredited institution. 
  • Seven or more years’ experience demonstrating career growth and ongoing professional development in the area of professional development and training, proposal writing, project management and contract training. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience building relationships and working with community organizations.
  • Experience building relationships and working with Indigenous communities.
  • Technology competencies to create and organize information, demonstrated understanding of security principles to protect privacy and information; communicate, present and disseminate information through appropriate media.
