Instructor, Studies in Women and Gender

Vancouver Island University

The Department of Studies in Women and Gender at VIU is seeking a sessional instructor to teach one section of SWAG 103 (Care of Self: Feminism and Wellbeing) in the Spring 2025 semester running from January to April.

This course will be taught online asynchronously.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD or ABD in a related discipline OR a Master’s level Counselling credential from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Evidence of expertise in feminism or gender studies within educational background or professional practice.
  • Evidence of knowledge and practice related to critical strategies for self-care, self-compassion, and harm reduction.
  • Evidence of commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization.
Salary Infromation:

$8,196.30 per assigned course consisting of three workload hours. The rate for any courses requiring fewer or greater hours shall be prorated based on this standard.
