Job Summary

The Team
At Penticton Child and Youth Mental Health, you’ll join a dedicated and experienced team of 9 clinicians, including nurses and master’s-trained professionals, alongside an Associate Team Leader and Team Leader. We work collaboratively to support children, youth, and families aged 5-19, fostering mental wellness in the community. Our diverse team values knowledge-sharing and mutual support, partnering closely with schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations. This established team offers a supportive environment where members tend to stay long-term, contributing to meaningful work within an inclusive and dynamic space.

The Role
In this role, you will provide direct clinical services, including intake, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for children, youth, and families. You will collaborate with community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs while conducting individual, group, and family therapy. Your work will contribute to a respectful and culturally safe environment, supporting mental wellness and positive outcomes. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
    • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services .
  • One or more years of MCFD protection or resource social work experience.
  • Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
