Job Summary

The Team
The Network Operations team is a critical part of ensuring that BC Government systems run smoothly, supporting essential services for all citizens of BC. As part of a collaborative and professional team of six, you’ll work closely with senior technical architects and application analysts to manage and maintain the government’s internet infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a motivated team that plays a vital role in keeping government systems operational .

The Role
As a lead application analyst, you’ll be responsible for running applications that monitor the health of the BC Government’s internet, ensuring that vital government systems remain up and running. Your work directly impacts citizens, enabling them to access essential services and programs. This is an exciting opportunity to tackle cutting-edge technologies, playing a crucial role in keeping government services available and operational.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a computer science-related field and 2 years of related experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science-related field and 3 years of related experience; OR
  • Diploma in a computer science-related field and 4 years of related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in a computer science-related field and 5 years of related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    Related experience must include ALL of the following:

  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and solid understanding of RESTful principles, API design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience in programming languages such as Perl and Python.
  • Experience in the following technologies: UNIX and UNIX scripting.
  • Experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role and experience with API Management Platforms.
  • Experience involvement in designing and implementing scalable and efficient integration solutions.
  • Experience in troubleshooting large complex environments.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience working with network monitoring tools such as Appneta, AKIPS and InterMapper.
  • Experience with Juniper MIST, Velo Orchestrator, Cisco Jasper, CradlePoint portal, Starlink Portal & ServiceNow, both in operational use and in using Rest APIs for these applications.

About this Position:
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
